Product for liver disease now commercialized in Europe

DENVER, COLORADO — February 15, 2012 — Corgenix Medical Corporation (OTCBB:CONX.OB), a worldwide developer and marketer of diagnostic test kits, announced today its second generation Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Immmunoturbidimetric Test Kit for use on automated chemistry analyzers has received CE marking for commercialization in Europe. The new product is the second Corgenix product for measuring blood levels of hyaluronic acid to assess the degree of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in chronic liver disease. The first Corgenix product is configured as an ELISA microplate and has been commercialized worldwide since 1998.

“The CE marking of our automated HA product reaffirms our market leadership position in non-invasive biomarkers for assessing chronic liver disease and allows us to commercialize the product in Europe through our distribution partner ELITech,” said Corgenix President and CEO Douglass Simpson. “We have a very active development program with ELITech and over the next few years will be bringing additional new and exciting products to the world markets.”

In 2010 Corgenix and ELITech entered into the Joint Product Development Agreement, a strategic alliance to co-develop new diagnostic tests. The automated HA product was the first product released as a result of that collaboration. It is now available worldwide, including Europe, through ELITech; in the U.S. it will be available for research purposes only through Corgenix.

In all countries where the use of this product has not been cleared by local regulating agencies, the product shall not be used for diagnostic purposes. None of the Corgenix Hyaluronic Acid products are FDA cleared for diagnostic use in the U.S.

Revenues up 15.7% for quarter, on pace for record year

DENVER –February 14, 2012 – Corgenix Medical Corporation (OTC BB: CONX.OB), a worldwide developer and marketer of diagnostic test kits, today filed its second quarter Form 10-Q and reported its financial results. The report disclosed that the company’s revenues increased both for the quarter and year to date. Some of the results highlighted by the report are as follows:

Revenues for the quarter increased $279,691 or 15.7% vs. the prior year’s comparable quarter

Revenues for the six months increased $479,675 or 12.7% vs. the prior year’s comparable six months

Interest expense decreased $17,227 or 37.4% vs. the prior year’s comparable quarter

“In this latest reporting period, we continued the double-digit revenue growth seen in recent quarters,” stated Douglass Simpson, Corgenix CEO and President. “It is especially encouraging that most of the increase came from the newer and more profitable products like AspirinWorks and Hyaluronic Acid. Likewise, our Contract Manufacturing sector increased over 200% this quarter, a trend we expect will continue through the rest of this year and into Fiscal 2013.”

The company further noted that the financial performance for the quarter was not as strong as expected, with some weakness in international and certain core product revenue. The company continues to believe that the third and fourth fiscal quarters will be considerably stronger and that Fiscal Year 2012 revenues will set a record for the Company’s annual revenues, currently expected to be approximately $9.7 million, with concurrent improvements in net income and adjusted EBITDA versus the prior year. As is always the case, there can be no such assurance that these results will be realized.

Second Quarter 2012 Conference Call Details

Corgenix invites all those interested in hearing management’s discussion of second quarter results to join a shareholders conference call on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. EST (2:00 p.m. MST). Interested parties can join the call by dialing (800) 894-5910. International participants may access the call by dialing +1 785 424 1052. The conference code is “CORGENIX.” A replay will be available for 30 days following the call by dialing (800) 723-2156 for U.S. participants and +1 402 220 2660 for international participants.

The Viral Hemorrhagic Fever Consortium was established in 2010 as a result of a contract awarded to Tulane University by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This contract was awarded for Tulane’s ongoing efforts to treat and prevent Lassa Fever, a disease that threatens hundreds of thousands of lives annually in West Africa and is classified as a potential bioterrorism threat.

The goal of the Consortium is to understand mechanisms related to the human immune response to Lassa virus infection. Specifically, by understanding what parts of the virus are recognized by the immune system, we can better understand mechanisms of antibody-mediated protection or pathogenesis in humans with Lassa Fever.

Tulane’s previous efforts focused on the development of new recombinant proteins for Lassa virus and diagnostic products, which have shown to be extremely effective in clinical settings in Africa. The new NIH award enables research to move to the next level, allowing for focus to be shifted towards better treatment and ultimately prevention of Lassa fever altogether.

The Consortium is a collaboration between Tulane, Scripps Research Institute, Broad Institute, Harvard University, University of California at San Diego, University of Texas Medical Branch, Autoimmune Technologies LLC, Corgenix Medical Corporation, Kenema Government Hospital (Sierra Leone), Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (Nigeria) and various other partners in West Africa. Together they work on evaluating antibodies from patients who have been infected by Lassa virus and have subsequently recovered, to see if those antibodies might play a role in the development of a vaccine or treatment for the illness. The Consortium intends to expand this program to include other important infectious agents such as Ebola, Marburg and other Arenaviruses that are of great concern to public health and bioterrorism. More information is available at www.vfhc.org.
